Originally introduced as the Toyota BJ in 1951, the Land Cruiser quickly became the first vehicle to reach Mount Fuji’s sixth station. It was developed and improved through real-world experiences from customers worldwide and it offers reliability, durability, and off-road capability that enable people to travel anywhere and return safely.
This idea has lasted over time and continues to grow even today. With more than 12 million units sold in over 190 markets, the Land Cruiser has become a trusted companion for people around the world. It is one of Toyota’s main models that has been shaped and improved by customers’ experiences from around the world for more than 70 years.
The Land Cruiser Family Had Three Main Series!
Up to now, the Land Cruiser family has featured three main series: the advanced Station Wagon (300 Series), the rugged Heavy-Duty model (70 Series), and the 250 Series, which revives the original spirit of simplicity and strength. With the addition of the new Land Cruiser FJ*2 to the series, Toyota aims to offer new value that represents the “Freedom and Joy” people feel when they enjoy the Land Cruiser in their own way, while maintaining the reliability, durability, and off-road capability that have long supported people’s lifestyles.

The Desire To Open Up The Land Cruiser Experience To More Customers
The idea comes from a wish to open the Land Cruiser experience to more customers, something made possible through its renewed focus on the core values seen in the 250 Series. It will continue developing to meet the expectations of society by serving customers worldwide as a dependable and enduring companion. Toyota will showcase the Land Cruiser FJ at its booth during the Japan Mobility Show 2025. It will take place from October 30 to November 9.
