Netflix has released the official trailer for Season 4 of its fantasy series The Witcher, which stars Liam Hemsworth as Geralt of Rivia, taking over the role from former lead Henry Cavill.
The new season will premiere on Netflix on October 30. The trailer depicts Hemsworth’s Geralt gathering a group of adventurers to hunt down his former Witcher apprentice, Ciri (Freya Allan). Geralt, along with fan favorites Yennefer of Vengerberg (Anya Chalotra), the bard Jaskier (Joey Batey), newcomer Regis (Laurence Fishburne), and others, must face the dark forces of the villain Vilgefortz (Mahesh Jadu). Along the way, Geralt battles numerous soldiers, a giant ogre-like creature, and a ghostly wraith. “The Witcher is in flux. You are transforming into something new,” an ominous voice says.
“How Will You Be Reborn?”
“How will you be reborn?” another voice asks. This could be a subtle nod to Hemsworth replacing Cavill, who left the Netflix series in October 2022. Cavill played Geralt for three seasons, and Hemsworth will now lead The Witcher through this penultimate season as well as the series finale in Season 5.
