Swimming Season

With summer right around the corner, information on the pool seems more and more important. The Town of
Melita pool is set to open on June 10 being in full swing until September 1 which will be the pools last day of
operation for the season.
The town of Melita swimming pool is continuing to offer lessons for all ages, starting at the preschool assisted
– parent assisted, all the way up to Bronze Cross course. This year the Town of Melita pool is also proud to be
able to offer the National Lifeguard certification course, which can have a maximum of 12 participants sign up.
Town of Melita Assistant Admin, Liza Wheelans said, “we only have one spot available which is great to see.”
Along with lessons for all ages the pool also offers Aquasize on Monday and Wednesday mornings and for
those who can’t attend in the mornings, there is also Tuesday and Thursday evening classes. The pool will also
be offering private lessons for all ages as well, which will be offered every Monday evening starting in June
until mid-August. Wheelans said, “Throughout the summer we also put on BBQ’s at the end of each lesson
session to celebrate our swimmer's hard work and success during their lessons.”
