Nissan Tekton SUV Set to Debut in Early 2026

Nissan has given an early look at its upcoming midsize SUV for India by releasing a series of official images. The Nissan Tekton, based on the upcoming Renault Duster, borrows several design elements from the full-size Nissan Patrol. This will be Nissan’s answer to popular compact SUVs such as the Kia Seltos, Hyundai Creta, Toyota Hyryder, Honda Elevate, Skoda Kushaq, Volkswagen Taigun, Maruti Grand Vitara, and the newly launched Maruti Victorious.

Official Reveal Details

Nissan plans to introduce the brand-new Tekton SUV during the first half of 2026. The Renault-Nissan plant in Chennai will handle production and act as the export hub for select international markets. At the front, the SUV sports a sleek grille with twin chrome bars and the signature Nissan emblem at the center, along with a sculpted hood featuring ‘Tekton’ lettering, dual-tone black-and-silver bumpers, and unique silver air-intake-style accents on the front doors. C-shaped accents, connected LED headlamps and taillamps, pronounced wheel arches with multi-spoke alloy wheels, roof rails, a rear door-mounted grab handle, and a roof-mounted spoiler all contribute to the SUV’s contemporary look.

Interior Highlights

Although the interior hasn’t been fully unveiled, Nissan has teased a triple-tone dashboard with soft-touch finishes and a copper-accent strip running from the infotainment screen to the outer air vents.

Petrol-Powered SUV

The upcoming Nissan Tekton is expected to use the same platform and engine lineup as the next-generation Renault Duster, which is set to arrive in early 2026. It will reportedly be available only with petrol powertrains, including a 1.3-litre petrol engine and a 1.2-litre mild-hybrid option.
