Southwest Cougars alumni planning a reunion

The Southwest Cougars continue to prepare for the upcoming 2018/2019 season with a pair of road games in Kenora on the last weekend in September. Prospects can register for the Cougars pre-season by going to the team’s website. Camp will run on the weekend of September 7-9.

But prior to camp starting, a bit of the Cougar past will return to Souris. The Cougars were AAA League Champions for 2 years in 1997/98 and 1998/99 when they defeated the Pembina Valley Hawks both seasons to advance to the Regional Air Canada Championships. Former Souris resident, Jeff Affleck, a member of the team, is in the process of bringing together members and staff of the two championship teams for a reunion in Souris on August 10. The day will include golf, supper, and fellowship.
