Melita Annual Santa Claus Parade

The Melita and Area Chamber of Commerce held their annual Santa Claus Parade in Melita on Saturday, November 24. There was a great turnout for the parade with many businesses, organizations and clubs decorating floats, vehicles, tractors and even horses! Many kids, parents and community members lined Main Street to watch the floats go by and to collect candy and lots of other treats. The highlight of the parade for all the kids was the last float of the day which, of Course, carried Santa Claus.

Following the parade, people took in shopping at local businesses and many kids rushed to Melita Strand Theatre for a chance to meet Santa Claus. After meeting Santa Claus, each child was treated to a free small popcorn and juice box, which was sponsored by Sunrise Credit Union Melita Branch. After Santa left the theatre, the community was treated to the free movie, Home Alone, sponsored by the Melita & Area Chamber of Commerce. All of the events of the day were very well attended and a fun time was had by everyone!
