Members of the Melita K-ette Club and their dedicated helpers are preparing for the 2020 Canadian Cancer Society Daffodil Campaign in our communities.
With 1 in 2 Canadians expected to be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime, many of us have been or will be directly affected by this disease. At the Canadian Cancer Society, we know that while cancer changes people, it doesn’t have to define who they are. Our goal is to improve the cancer experience by prolonging life and enhancing the quality of living for those affected by cancer. Because we believe life is bigger than cancer.
Join our Daffodil Campaign this spring. With your support, we can help people with cancer see life beyond their diagnosis. When you purchase daffodils you are helping people live their lives more fully by funding life enhancing research and support programs.
Daffodil Days are April 6 – 9, 2020. Melita daffodils will be available for pick up Wednesday, April 8, 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. at the United Church CE Hall. Fresh daffodils will be available for $7.00 per bunch of 10 or 3 bunches for $20.00. Daffodil pins will be available during the month of April for cash donations. The pin boxes will be place in some of the businesses in Melita for your donations. Sign up sheets for live daffodils will be place in several places in Melita where you are able to place your orders.
We are pleased to have Barb Moir (204-686-2285) as our Tilston representative and Linda Holmes (204-649-2231) and Penny Clark (204-649-2220) as our Lyleton representatives to help with the sale of daffodils in these areas. Melita contacts are Lorna Warsaba (204-522-8252), Jean Loucks (204-522-3958) or any K-ette member.
Melita K-ettes have been supporting the Canadian Cancer Society Daffodil Campaign for 27 years. With the support of the surrounding communities, we have raised over $50,000. The best part is all proceeds go towards finding a cure, support, treatments and research for cancer. Your support matters – buy flowers today! Take action – your support is appreciated.
