Antler River Recreation and the Pierson Theatre Camp participants are very excited to bring you their final performances of the musical, The Jungle Books Kids on Friday, May 10, at 7:00 p.m. and Saturday, May 11, at 3:00 p.m. at the Pierson Hall. Each week we have been introducing some of the participants and we hope that you join us at the performances to see what the kids have been preparing!
Jillian Bayliss is a Grade 9 student at Carnduff School and will be playing Baloo. Some of Jillian’s favourite and past productions include The Lion King and The Little Mermaid. Jillian says that the best part of Theatre Camp is being able to sing and act. She decided to join the Theatre Camp because she loves singing and their aren’t many opportunities in our area to do that.
Chloe Caldwell is a Grade 4 student at Pierson School and will be playing Baghera. Chloe’s favourite and past productions includes The Little Mermaid and “the one we are doing now” The Jungle Book. Chloe says that her favourite part of Theatre Camp is getting to sing! She said that she joined the Theatre Camp because she likes to sing, and I have done it before and it is lots of fun.
Jackson Caldwell is a Grade 2 student at Pierson School and will be part of the Ensemble as well as being the curtain operator during the play. This is Jackson’s very first production. Jackson said that his favourite part of camp is getting to see my friends. When asked why he decided to sign up for Theatre Camp, Jackson said that his sister told him that he should join.
Kalln Jacobson is a Grade 2 student at Pierson School and will be playing Colonel Hathi and is also part of the Ensemble. Kalln said that the favourite production he has been as part of is “The Little Mermaid”. It was lots of fun. Kalln’s favourite part of Theatre Camp is getting to sing. He said that he joined Theatre Camp because he loves to sing “and I get to do that here”.
Catriona Maksymic is a Grade 7 student at Pierson School and will be part of the Ensemble during the play. This is Cat’s second performance, and she said that she loved “The Little Mermaid” when we did it last year. Cat said that she decided to join Theatre Camp because she like to come to rehearsals and to sing. She also said that the best part of Theatre Camp is getting to sing and act.
