Creating From The Heart is a charity sewing group that meets every Tuesday from October 1 until April 30 and create from 1:30 – 3:30 in the sewing room at the Melita Golden Age Centre.
Our supplies come from various people who wish to support our charity projects.
Last year we completed various projects that includes pillow cases and Christmas bags for Christmas Cheer, Fortrel blankets and pillow cases for Samaritan House in Brandon, Compassionate bags for the Women’s Shelter in Brandon, chemo hats for Deloraine Cancer Care Centre and pillow cases for weekend Children’s Camp through Brandon Hospital.
Charity projects have been delivered by volunteers to the appropriate facilities and are greatly appreciated. When we receive thank you’s for projects sent, we know what we do is so worthwhile.
Thank you to all the ladies who are dedicated to come each week but our group would be happy if anyone would like to join us or just see what we do. Drop in participants are welcome!
If you want to help in other ways, Creating From The Heart is a registered charity and always grateful for donations of materials or funds to purchase sewing notions and cover costs. We are open to suggestions or ideas for other projects and try to keep them local to the area.
