Antler River Dance Group Spring Recital

The Antler River Dance Group held their annual Spring Recital at the Melita Strand Theatre, Saturday, April 27. The girls worked very hard all season to prepare their dances for the audience, and their hard work certainly paid off! The dance group was once again was taught by Stacey Vanbeselaere, and helping out with the younger groups was student, Kyra VanGheluwe.

The first performance of the recital was a jazz dance, “Sweet Dreams”, by Group 6. This group is Mackenzie Lee, Makayla Murray, Brooklyn Skelton and Kyra VanGheluwe. Group 5 - Mya Alphonso, Danika Lamb and Autumn Renwick, then performed their tap routine to “Cups”.

Next to perform was a new group to the ARDG, the preschool class, consisting of Kaylie Carr, Harper Renwick and Chloe Sagun, who danced to “Animal Crackers”. Ella Fewings and Piper White, Group 2, danced their tap routine to “Brighter Than The Sun” followed by Mackenzie Lee performing her jazz solo, “Power Over Me”.

After a short intermission and drawing the rainbow auction prizes, Group 1 of Adele Ardron, Kensi Bugg, Zoey Jones, Lennon Stewart and Everleigh Temple, were very cute in their creative dance “Over in the Meadow”. Group 3 performed their tap routine to “Dance It Out”. This group included Lilly Bernard, Aurora Bugg, Elliott Graham, Sadie Jones, Katharyn Rodrigez, Isabella Rowan and Katelyn Tilbury. Group 4 then took to the stage to share their jazz number, “I Wanna Dance With Somebody”. This group included Amelia Alphonso, Madison Clark, Tehya Custance, Lily Jones, Caitlyn Sagun and Whitney Whittome.

Group 5 performed their second number of the afternoon “Better When I’m Dancin’” followed by the oldest girls of the ARDG, who also performed their second routine “I Got Rhythm”.

The large crowd in attendance was thoroughly entertained by the show and impressed by the great job by all the dancers. Great jobs girls! Good luck to the two graduating dancers, Mackenzie Lee and Makayla Murray!
