Google’s AI video generator is improving with enhanced editing features and richer audio. Google is making videos created with its AI filmmaking tool Flow look even more realistic and more difficult to recognize as AI-generated at first glance.

The company announced on Wednesday that users will be able to add and adjust shadows and lighting in their AI-generated videos. The new editing tools in Flow are connected to the Veo 3.1 update, which was also announced on Wednesday, and Google says this update improves how well the system creates videos from the images used as prompts.

Another Feature Called “Frames to Video” Was Also Announced

Flow users will also be able to create videos with audio by using several of the tool’s new features. Users can create a video with audio using three reference images, which the company refers to as “Ingredients to Video.”

Another feature, called “Frames to Video,” generates a video that connects a starting image to an ending image and includes audio.

The “Stage Extension” Feature Offers A New Format

The “Scene Extension” feature allows users to take the last second of a clip and add extra generated video of up to one minute, also including generated audio. Veo 3.1 has the same price as Veo 3, is offered as a paid preview to developers through the Gemini API, and is also available in the Gemini app. According to Google, Flow users will soon be able to remove anything from a video, and the tool will rebuild the background and scene so that it looks as if the object was never there.

In addition, Google plans to make the editing process simple so that even users without professional skills can produce clean and realistic results. This feature could save creators a lot of time, since they will no longer need complex software to fix mistakes or unwanted objects. It may also change how films, ads, and social media videos are produced in the future by giving more control to everyday users.
