Google is bringing its Nano Banana AI image-editing feature to Search, NotebookLM, and Google Photos.
When it debuted last month, Google’s Nano Banana AI image editor quickly went viral. Now, the tool is being added to several existing Google services, such as Search, NotebookLM, and Photos. Arguably the most significant integration is with NotebookLM. Nano Banana is being used to completely revamp Video Overviews, introducing six new styles such as watercolor and anime.
It can now create contextual illustrations based on source material, and there’s also a new micro-video format called “Briefs.” For those unfamiliar, Video Overviews is a handy feature in NotebookLM that automatically creates explainer videos from documents. It can even create a narrated slideshow with visuals. This AI-focused update begins rolling out to Pro users this week, and will reach all users in the “coming weeks.” According to the company, users can enter a chat prompt to ask the bot to generate a stylized version of an existing image.
Users Can Edit Photos With The AI!
Additionally, users can take photos directly through the Lens tool and then edit them with the AI. This is currently rolling out in English for users in the US, with additional countries and languages to follow soon. There are no concrete details yet about what the Photos integration will entail, as Google has only said that Nano Banana will arrive on the platform “in the coming weeks.” The company says more information is coming soon. Since Nano Banana is an image editor and Google Photos is used to store and organize pictures, the integration will most likely allow users to edit their stored photos in some form.
